I just thought I'd discuss and review the top 10 must have ps3 accessories. I'll be going over everything from PS3 Controllers to PS3 repair parts! By the end of this Lens I'd love for you to consider purchasing one of these (or all 10) Play Station 3 Accessories. I feel like a lot of these PS3 Accessories are overlooked and not even considered by Gamers. I Gave My Dad The Perfect Father's Day Present



So Father's Day recently passed and I remember stressing out about what to get my Dad for a Father's Day Gift. I was pacing halls, asking friends and family, brain storming and a lot more. I couldn't think of anything to get my Dad for Father's Day. He's raised me 22 years of my life and I was completely stumped on what to get him. Some son huh?

Sure, a lot of my friends and family have suggested certain gifts, like dress shirts and other apparel, golf clubs, a new electric shaver, all the way to a brand new grill! There were just too many to consider and none of them really clicked, none of them really caught my attention. I even made a list of all the suggestions and brain storming I had done, but to no avail. I couldn't buy him a lot of things on the list because I had already bought him most of them from previous Father's Days and Birthdays. I was running out of options!
Narrowing My Choices
During the week before Father's Day my work had just added a lot of new items to our inventory. I was skeptical at first, but I decided to consider them, so I added them to the list. Since I was in charge of editing and adding these items to our website, I witnessed first hand, all of the new items we had added. To my surprise, most of these items would make perfect gifts for anybody! We added a whole slew of Watches, Business Stationary and Hand Crafted, Porcelain USB Drives! Finally, I had narrowed down the list and was making progress!

How to Upgrade Your PS3 Slim Hard Drive

Are you running out of space on your beloved Sony PlayStation 3 Slim Video Game Console? No more space to save your favorite games and movies or game progress? Not to worry, I've got it covered! This is a guide on how to upgrade your Sony PS3 Slim's HDD via phlydude

PLEASE READ: When choosing a hard drive to upgrade to, be sure that the RPM is at 5400 and not 7200. The reason being is that you'll run the risk of overheating your PS3 Slim due to more revolutions of the HDD.

STEP 1:

Flip your PS3 Slim on it's back and you'll see a small "door" that hides the blue screw that holds the HDD down. You can use a typical #1 Phillips screw driver



STEP 2:

Now that you've removed the blue screw it's time to remove the HDD. If you look at the front bottom right hand corner of your PS3 slim you'll see that the front cover with all the logos and what not comes off nicely (you'll probably just need to slide it to the right). Once the cover has been removed you'll be able to see the PS3's drive cage. You can now pull the drive out of the system and remove the bottom screws that hold the HDD to the cage. You don't need to lift the spring clips as they do not hold the drive in anyway.




STEP 3:

Reverse engineer your new hard drive into the PS3 and make sure you have a USB drive handy. Within the USB Drive create a folder called "PS3", then a sub-folder called "UPDATE." Once the directories have been created, download an update from HERE.



STEP 4:

Now plug in the USB Drive and power on the PS3.


Once you get to to this screen, press "start" and "select" simultaneously to get to this screen:

Follow the on screen instructions and you'll be on your way to formatting the new drive!

DealStartsHere: The HTC G2 Finally Get's a Permanent Root!

Here's a guide on how to Root your HTC G2 or Hero:

Step 1: Restart into the BootLoader Menu. You can do this by powering on the Phone while holding the Back Button.

Step 2: Extract the leatest version of GSM Hero Recovery Image into your android SDK/tools folder. You can find the files HERE.

Step 3: Download the Superuser.zip and extract it to your SDK/tools folder. You can download the Superuser zip file HERE.

Step 4: Plug the USB Cable in and open a Command Prompt. You can open one from the tools directory and type the following command: fastboot boot recovery-RA-her-v1.5.2.img
(you'll be entering the recovery console on the phone)

Once you've opened the recovery console do a Nandroid Backup. When completed continue to step 5.

Step 5: Now type the commands below in CMD as they appear. Push enter to create a new line.
            adb shell mount /system
            adb push su /system/bin/
            adb shell chmod 4755 /system/bin/su
            adb push Superuser.apk /system/app/
            adb shell reboot

You have now successfully rooted your G2 or Hero!

Now head to the market and download Root Boot (this app will only work if you have root access!)

DealStartsHere: Samsung Galaxy S 2 Get's Rooted!

This guide will teach you how to root your brand new Samsung Galaxy S 2 Android Phone!

Here are a list of things you'll need:

-Samsung Galaxy S 2 Android Phone
-Windows PC
-Samsung USB Data Cable
-Download the attached XWKDD  (NOT extract the .tar file)
-Odin Downloader
-Download SuperOneClick
-USB debugging mode:  Settings -> Applications -> Development -> USB debugging


Step 1: Reboot into download mode: Turn off the phone -> Power on by holding Volume Down + Home + Power simultaneously.


Step 2: Execute ODIN Downloader


Step 3: Connect the phone via USB to your computer.
-After waiting a few seconds, ODIN should show that the phone is now connected.
-Check the boxes that refer to "Auto Reboot" and "F. Reset Time," but be sure to leave all other options alone.
-Click the "PDA" button and select the "XWKDD_insecure.tar" file.
-Click the "Start" button.
-ODIN should now be flashing the kernel and the phone should reboot.


WARNING: DO NOT DISCONNECT THE USB CABLE. WAIT UNTIL THE PHONE REBOOTS!


Step 4: While the phone is still connected via the USB cable, open SuperOneClick and press ROOT. The phone should reboot and has been successfully rooted!

Hacking Your Nook Color Into a Full Blown Android Tablet

This guide will teach you how to root your Nook Color into a Android OS Tablet. Originally this guide was from  NookDev's Guide. 


BEFORE YOU START, you'll need a MicroSD card with an MicroSD card to SD adapter. You'll need at least 128MB of memory on it, but it's recommended to carry a 1GB. (Besides, who carries a 128MB SD card in today's day and age?).


Step 1: Charge up your Nook Color and then power on your Nook Color to register your Barnes & Noble account on the device. (Make sure you register, as you will not be able to do this after you root your Nook Color).


Step2: Mount the SD card to your Windows PC and make sure you format/erase everything on the SD card and remember the Assigned Letter to this SD card.


Step 3: Download this program called Win32DiskImager.


Step 4: On your Nook go to, "Settings" -> "Device Info" -> "About Your Nook Color and Check Software Version"


Step 5: Download this program called Auto Nooter (by GabrialDestruir). This program creates a bootable image on your SD card for booting your Nook Color. You'll have to download a specific Auto Nooter version based on the version of your Nook Color.


Here's a small table to figure out which to download:
Nook 1.0.0 -> auto-nooter-2.12.18.img.zip
Nook 1.0.1 -> auto-nooter-2.12.25.img.zip
Nook Later Versions -> NookDevs guide


Step 6: After downloading the appropriate version of Auto Nooter, open Win32DiskImage.exe


Step 7: Navigate to where the Auto Nooter file you downloaded is located.


Step 8: Click the Drop-Down menu and select the assigned letter to the SD card.


Step 9: Click "Write". The program will format the SD card and copy the bootable image to the SD card.


Step 10: Remove the SD Card from your computer.


Step 11: Hold down the power button on your Nook Color and Power Off.


Step 12: Insert the SD card into your Nook Color.


Step 13: Plug in the Nook Color to your PC via USB. Your Nook Color will now boot.


Step 14: If using Auto Nooter for Nook Color version 1.0.1 or later, your Nook Color will reboot after the root process and proceed to boot normally.
If using Auto Nooter for Nook Color version 1.0.0, once the device shows in Windows wait at least 5 minutes for the scripts to complete and then discounnect the USB cable, remove the SD card, and hold down the power button for 15 seconds to boot your Nook Color. You'll see it boot to the new boot sequence after the Nook Logo.


Step 15: After booting, you'll notice the Android logo. Proceed with the setup process and register your google account. You have successfully rooted and installed Android OS on your Nook Color! Congradulations!
