This guide will teach you how to root your brand new Samsung Galaxy S 2 Android Phone!
Here are a list of things you'll need:
-Samsung Galaxy S 2 Android Phone
-Windows PC
-Samsung USB Data Cable
-Download the attached XWKDD (NOT extract the .tar file)
-Odin Downloader
-Download SuperOneClick
-USB debugging mode: Settings -> Applications -> Development -> USB debugging
Step 1: Reboot into download mode: Turn off the phone -> Power on by holding Volume Down + Home + Power simultaneously.
Step 2: Execute ODIN Downloader
Step 3: Connect the phone via USB to your computer.
-After waiting a few seconds, ODIN should show that the phone is now connected.
-Check the boxes that refer to "Auto Reboot" and "F. Reset Time," but be sure to leave all other options alone.
-Click the "PDA" button and select the "XWKDD_insecure.tar" file.
-Click the "Start" button.
-ODIN should now be flashing the kernel and the phone should reboot.
WARNING: DO NOT DISCONNECT THE USB CABLE. WAIT UNTIL THE PHONE REBOOTS!
Step 4: While the phone is still connected via the USB cable, open SuperOneClick and press ROOT. The phone should reboot and has been successfully rooted!
